Duolingo Killed it (literally) with their social stunt in 2024. Gen Z couldn’t stop talking about if Duo was actually dead as they speculated where he would pop-up again.
Given the brand we believed it was a stunt. Duo would re-emerge. So while our key demographic was vigilantly searching for answers, we gave them one. That same day Duo was spotted on a holiday of a lifetime, on a Contiki.

On trip and social we saw our community celebrating Brat Summer. So we joined in, because travel has always been a place where young people escape to feel alive, escape responsibility, expectations, the future, and just be. You’re only young once right.
