Souvenirs have become predictable and mass produced. They’ve become more about collecting proof than being treasured i.e. the captains hat from Croatia or the Singa singlet from Thailand that’s soon forgotten.

Contiki trips are about more than proving you’ve visited a collection of places, it’s about building your identity.

The problem:

Travel memories get buried in feeds and cheap souvenirs stay in draws. Neither feel worthy of who they’ve become.

The idea:

We create souvenirs money can’t buy. We turn Contiki’s most iconic location ‘the Chateau’ into the home of ultimate souvenirs. At the beginning of the travel season one Chateau room is fully fitted out with covetable items you’d want in your first flat: custom couch, art, neon signs, pool table, designer lamps, games, branded design pieces etc. At the end of the season, travellers can compete to buy them…but not with money, their currency are their photos, stories, and advocacy. The more they share, the more entries they earn.

The ultimate souvenir becomes something you win because you lived it. It becomes so much more than a souvenir: a trophy, a conversation starter, a legendary story, and bragging rights for the only Contiki traveller who took it back from France.
